Titanic and a comeback

About Belfast

Belfast is a city rebuilding itself in plain sight, its Titanic and Troubles history worn openly rather than hidden away.

The great cranes of the shipyard still loom over a gleaming museum where the doomed liner was built, and political murals line the walls of once-divided neighbourhoods. The Cathedral Quarter has filled with bars, music and a fast-growing confidence the city earned the hard way.

Just up the coast the basalt columns of the Giant's Causeway step down into the sea.

Eat a heaped Ulster fry and settle in for a pint and live music in a Cathedral Quarter pub.
